Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional therapy that uses the insertion of extremely thin, flexible, stainless-steel needles into the body at specific points in order to stimulate a natural healing response. Acupuncture originates from China, where it has been used for over three-thousand years to heal people of sickness and disease, making it one of the oldest medical tradition in the world. Acupuncture is one healing modality of a complete system of medicine known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM practitioners rely on an ancient and holistic perspective on how the body works in order to correctly diagnose illness and develop a treatment plan for the patient.

Chinese Herbs

Traditional Chinese herbology is one of the most well-developed and widely-used natural medicine in use today.  Historical records indicate that the Chinese began their methodic approach to understanding the healing effects of herbs thousands of years ago, with their efforts culminating into the most effective and comprehensive system of herbal medicine in the world.  Chinese herbs are carefully classified according to flavor, impact on body temperature, the path they take through the body, their functions in the body, and how they interact with other herbs.  The crafting of a Chinese herbal formula requires a masterful understanding of many hundreds of herbs and how they work together. The ultimate goal of Chinese Herbal Medicine is always to address the root causes of disease and to heal the whole body without sacrificing the integrity of its parts. Thus, each herb in the formula is selected to strengthen and balance each other into a synergistic whole, so that the patient is healed quickly and safely.

Cupping

Cupping uses gentle, controlled suction to open up muscle tissue and vastly increase local circulation of blood and fluids. Drawing up the skin into the cup is believed to open up the skin pores, which helps to stimulate and rebalance the flow of qi, break up obstructions and blockages and creates an avenue for toxins, cellular debris or forgotten emotional carry-on baggage to be drawn out of the body.
